Hanna again.

Today has been a day of cutting and sticking making a few of these cards for a mountain of birthdays in March. It's difficult to see in the photo but Hanna's dress and handbags are all stamped and cut out of patterned paper then glued in place. Luckily I didn't have a manicure planned, my fingers are covered in glue residue!
Other than that I spent the morning with Severine from Clermont talking about Scotland, cards and Stampin'Up! products. Two and a half hours can pass quickly in a craft room! I also went to see the woman in our local flower shop and have an 'atelier' planned there for the 20th March.
It's Ryan and Greg's last day of their multisport week at Lempdes, today's agenda was Olympic Games but they've done football, rugby, tennis, basketball, ice skating, BMX biking, athletics......you name it. They have certainly slept well this week.
Okay, that's all for today, I should have some more cards to take photos of tomorrow, have a good weekend.

More presents

The brown card is what Anne gave me when she came for lunch on Monday. It's hard to see in the photo but the flower panel shimmers and is glazed. In the bottom right hand corner a circle has been punched out and when the card is closed you can see the word 'merci' stamped in white. The 'But I need it....' picture is a little gift box I made for VAL . I have waited for these Hanna stamps for a long time and the box was my first creation with them. I used a technique called paper piecing which is 'time consuming' but I like the result it gives you.
No boys at the house today so perhaps I'll have time for some stamping. It's Ryan's 9th birthday tomorrow and he's ordered a homemade lemon tart instead of a birthday cake so I'll need to have a visit to the shops at some time, the fridge is bare again!

Les Cadeaux!

I spent yesterday with 2 other Stampin'Up! demonstrators, Val (and her 2 children) from Lyon and Anne from Lempdes. We decided to get to know each other, eat lunch together and share ideas and techniques. Val's speciality is scrap-booking and above are pictures of the gorgeous presents she brought me. Anne brought some delicious Tiramisu for desert which went down very well!
Anne's speciality is 'le patouillage' and I'll post a photo of the card she made me tomorrow! It was great fun and I certainly learned a lot and saw some products which I don't have (but of course need to get now)!

2nd week of competition.

I think I'm allowed to upload this photo of my second page for the FaNathiquement scrap competition. The journalling is a special poem written by a distant aunt in Australia, Loris, after her hsuband died. She wanted to write about how she was so touched by the friends and relations who were such a help to her after Pat passed away. I have included a French translation, kindly done by my friend Julie. I hope you can read the English version on the page, if not, click on the picture you should get an enlarged version. The competition has certainly been a good way to force me to try scrapbooking instead of card making but I'm keen to get back to my cards today!

SCRAP PAGE FOR A CHANGE!

Most of you know that I like making cards and have not really ventured into scrapbooking as yet. I decided that I had to force myself towards experimenting with scrap pages and entered a competition on the forum FaNathiquement Scrap. It lasts for all of February and has a different theme each week - the first being 'expression du corps'. The page shows Neil well and truly 'fatigué' (and filthy) at the end of a rugby game.I think they were giving me a chance with this page as I made it through to the next round and have to produce a page around 'expression écrit'! Needless to say I haven't started yet so must go and do so now! Have a good weekend.

Valentine's Cards

Happy Valentine's Day! Now it is the 14th I can show you a few cards done for a friend, the recipients should have received them by now (I hope). All craft work suspended now for 24 hours as we're having a 'Burns supper' tonight for 10 people! Given that my craft room is temporarily actually our dining room, I have a lot of tidying up to do before 8 o'clock this evening.

Saturday morning's work!

The weekend is here and what glorious weather. I'm trying to decide whether or not I should stop making cards and playing with craft supplies to go and tidy the garden!!! Greg is away playing football and it's very peaceful in the house. These pictures show what I've been doing while the boys were at school this morning. Pick-A-Petal is one of my favourite stamp sets and has been well used, you get very different effects by choosing a different colour family.
The plant pot tags are from page 41 of the current Stampin'Up! catalogue. I'm soon going to have an 'atelier' in the local flower shop and thought these would be a good project to do. Have a great weekend and enjoy the sunshine.

Quiet weekend!

Not much to report on the cardmaking front this weekend unfortunately. Poor Ryan has been ill with the flu since Friday morning and needed his mum to cuddle him on the couch. Added to his twisted ankle from Wednesday's football training he hasn't had a pleasant few days.
I'm hoping to be creative with a Stampin'Up! set tonight called Mixed Bouquet which is gorgeous and lends itself to lots of colouring techniques. SU have reduced the price of it by 25% for the month of Februaury when you spend 45euros from the catalogue. Watch this space in the next few days to see what I've created!
Last thing to say tonight.......ALLEZ ASM!
